About the Role
NELFT is seeking a motivated and compassionate Speech & Language Therapist to join our Pre-School Community Team in Waltham Forest. This role is ideal for a therapist who is passionate about early years development and committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to children and their families.

Key Responsibilities
As a Community Speech & Language Therapist, you will:
- Deliver initial assessments and targeted interventions for pre-school children with speech, language, and communication needs
- Work collaboratively with families, early years settings, and partner agencies
- Develop individualised care plans using sound clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice
- Contribute to service development, reflective practice, and quality improvement
- Maintain accurate clinical records in line with NHS and professional standards
- Participate in supervision, peer support groups, and ongoing professional development
- Opportunities may also arise to work across other areas of the service, depending on service needs and personal interests.

Salary & Benefits
- Competitive NHS Band 5 salary
- High Cost Area Supplement (Outer London): 15% of basic salary
- Minimum: £4,714 | Maximum: £5,941 (pro rata for part-time roles)

Person Specification (Essential Criteria)
Applicants must demonstrate:
- A recognised Speech & Language Therapy degree or equivalent
- Current UK professional registration with the HCPC
- Ability to apply clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice
- Experience gained during undergraduate or postgraduate training
- Understanding of UK government policy and legislation affecting children’s services
- Strong organisational, communication, and prioritisation skills
Safeguarding & Compliance
- This role requires an enhanced DBS check
- Applicants must meet requirements under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1975)
- Overseas applicants must provide criminal record certificates for countries lived in during the past 10 years
