About the Role
Ignition Autocare is seeking a highly experienced Senior Vehicle Technician who is also a qualified MOT Tester to join its growing workshop in Castleford. This is a senior, hands-on role designed for professionals who take pride in workmanship, transparency, and customer trust.
The business has recently achieved Bosch Approved Garage status—a demanding accreditation that reflects exceptional standards. Ignition Autocare is currently the only Bosch-approved garage within a 10-mile radius, highlighting the quality of its operations and reputation.

Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Vehicle Technician and MOT Tester, your duties will include:
- Carrying out MOT tests in accordance with DVSA standards
- Diagnosing and repairing vehicles to a high professional standard
- Completing servicing, inspections, and mechanical repairs
- Producing clear and accurate job records
- Supporting workshop standards, cleanliness, and compliance
- Upholding customer transparency and professional integrity
Essential Requirements (Strict Criteria)
This role is only suitable for candidates who meet all of the following requirements:
- Fully qualified MOT Tester
- Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a vehicle technician / car mechanic
- Proven ability to work independently in a busy workshop
- Strong diagnostic and mechanical expertise

Salary & Benefits
- £45,000 – £60,000 per year (depending on experience and output)
