The Opportunity

A respected UK Building Services and Engineering organisation is looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Commissioning Manager to support complex construction and infrastructure projects across multiple sectors.

This is a senior role suited to professionals with strong leadership capability and a deep understanding of M&E systems.

Your Role

As the M&E Commissioning Manager, you will take ownership of commissioning activities across projects, ensuring systems are delivered safely, efficiently, and to specification. Reporting to the Lead Commissioning Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Managing all day-to-day mechanical and electrical commissioning operations
• Coordinating and supervising specialist subcontractors
• Monitoring installation progress and commissioning readiness on site
• Attending and contributing to technical and client-facing meetings
• Producing accurate progress updates and technical reports
• Reviewing, updating, and implementing commissioning procedures and documentation
• Liaising with third-party utility providers and statutory authorities
• Overseeing water treatment processes in line with project requirements
• Leading teams effectively while maintaining strong professional relationships

Working Pattern

• Full-time, site-based role
• On-site attendance required in Oxford and associated project locations

Salary & Benefits Package

• Competitive salary of £70,000 – £80,000 per year

Essential Requirements

Applicants should be able to demonstrate:

• A recognised degree in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering or installation
• At least 3 years’ experience in a Commissioning Manager role
• Proven experience commissioning domestic and commercial M&E systems
• Strong project management and planning capabilities
• Ability to understand complex systems and allocate appropriate resources
• Experience managing multiple deliverables and deadlines
• A results-driven mindset aligned with company values and policies
• A valid UK driving licence (support provided for international licence conversion)

Desirable Qualifications

• SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification
