The Opportunity

We are looking for a proactive and highly organised Curriculum & Assessment Officer to join the School of Engineering and Informatics. This role plays a vital part in supporting the delivery of teaching, assessment, and academic quality for the University’s Transnational Education (TNE) partnership.

Working at the centre of academic operations, you will help ensure that curriculum and assessment activities run smoothly, accurately, and in line with University regulations. You will collaborate closely with academic colleagues, professional services teams, and international partners to coordinate key academic processes throughout the year.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this varied and rewarding role, you will:

  • Coordinate curriculum and assessment processes for transnational programmes, ensuring consistency and regulatory compliance
  • Support assessment cycles, exam boards, progression and award processes
  • Maintain accurate academic records and documentation
  • Provide clear advice and guidance to students and staff on curriculum and assessment matters
  • Liaise with colleagues in the UK and overseas to support effective academic delivery
  • Contribute to service improvement by reviewing processes and identifying practical solutions
  • Your work will directly support academic quality, student outcomes, and the smooth operation of a globally collaborative learning model.

About the School and Partnership

The University of Sussex delivers its Transnational Education (TNE) provision in partnership with Zhejiang Gongshang University (ZJSU) in Hangzhou, China through the Sussex Artificial Intelligence Joint Institute. This collaboration offers joint undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Communications.

The Joint Institute is embedded within the School of Engineering and Informatics, part of the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Medicine.   • Going rate: £41,700 (eligibility depends on salary, tradeable points, and existing visa status)
