Job Description
Exciting Opportunity: Clinical Nurse Specialist (Band 6) in Community Alcohol and Drug Services
We are thrilled to announce an opening for a dedicated Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist in our Community Alcohol and Drug Service (CADS), located at St Ninians Health Centre. If you’re passionate about supporting individuals on their journey to recovery from substance use challenges, including alcohol-related issues, this role could be a perfect fit for you.
Key Responsibilities
In this position, you’ll bring your expertise to the forefront by guiding and mentoring nursing teams in delivering high-quality, research-backed interventions for people dealing with substance use. You’ll champion the recovery-focused approach, ensuring that every team member receives structured supervision to help clients access the right treatments and progress toward healthier lives. This means overseeing care plans for a diverse and often complex group of individuals, working collaboratively to make a real difference.
Our services emphasize an integrated recovery model, partnering closely with other organizations to provide holistic support. Strong communication skills and a proven track record in teamwork are crucial, as you’ll be building relationships across various agencies to enhance client outcomes.
What We are Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should be a first-level Registered Mental Nurse (RMN) with a degree-level education and additional training in a relevant specialty. It’s a big plus if you’re already a non-medical prescriber, or if you’re eager to pursue that qualification—we’ll support your development.
You will need to be flexible and ready to travel across our service area, as mobility is key to reaching those who need us most.
Additionally, the successful candidate must join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme to ensure the safety of our clients. For more details on this important requirement, visit the official site at www.disclosurescotland.co.uk.
