Job Description

About the Role

As Clinical Research Partnership Manager, you will support the development of pre-clinical, clinical, and patient-centred research projects. Your work will help translate ideas into competitive funding proposals and sustainable research collaborations.

You will join a team of Research Development Managers supporting the Agriculture, Food & Health theme, while collaborating across other research areas within the University. The role is based primarily at the Whiteknights Campus, with regular engagement at the RBFT London Road site, which is easily accessible by foot or public transport.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Support and grow collaborative clinical research across the University–NHS partnership
  • Work closely with academics, clinicians, and external partners to develop high-quality research proposals
  • Advise on UK and international clinical research funding opportunities
  • Support funding applications from concept through submission
  • Provide guidance on patient and public involvement (PPI) in research
  • Ensure projects align with ethical approval processes and clinical research governance requirements
  • Manage a varied portfolio of projects, working to tight deadlines
  • Contribute to the generation of external research income

What We’re Looking For

You’ll be a strong fit for this role if you bring:

  • Experience working effectively within a team-based research development environment
  • The ability to manage multiple projects under pressure and meet competing deadlines
  • Knowledge of clinical research funding mechanisms in the UK and internationally
  • Experience supporting, developing, or contributing to clinical research funding applications
  • An understanding of clinical research governance, ethics approval, and patient and public involvement
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
