About the School

The UCL School of Management delivers UCL’s business and management education and research, with a strong international profile and an interdisciplinary mindset. The School is widely recognised for excellence in innovation, entrepreneurship, analytics, and the growth of technology-intensive organisations. It sits within a world-leading university and works closely with colleagues across engineering, computer science, public policy, economics, psychology, statistics, and the medical sciences.

With a diverse community of over 2,000 students and faculty from across the globe, the School combines rigorous academic standards with a strong commitment to real-world relevance and positive societal change. Recent strategic growth will see the School expand significantly over the next five years, creating new programmes, roles, and opportunities to shape future leaders who are socially responsible and globally engaged.

The Opportunity

The UCL School of Management is seeking an Associate Professor (Teaching) to take a leading role in advancing societal impact across the School’s education, engagement, and external partnerships. This is a senior education-focused appointment designed for an experienced academic leader who is passionate about embedding impact, responsibility, and public value into business education.

The postholder will:

  • Provide strategic leadership for societal impact activities across the School.
  • Design, coordinate, and champion initiatives that strengthen the School’s contribution to society locally (particularly in London) and internationally.
  • Work closely with academic, professional services, students, and external partners to ensure societal impact is meaningfully embedded in programmes and activities.
  • Contribute to teaching, dissertation or project supervision, personal tutoring, and academic citizenship, as appropriate to the role.
  • This position sits on UCL’s Education and Teaching career track and does not carry research output expectations associated with research-focused academic posts.

About You

  • We are looking for an individual who brings both leadership experience and a strong educational ethos. You will typically demonstrate:
  • A PhD (or equivalent professional or academic experience) in business, management, or a closely related discipline.
  • A strong track record of leading or coordinating societal impact, responsibility, sustainability, or civic engagement initiatives within a business school or comparable environment.
  • Evidence of high-quality teaching across diverse cohorts, supported by strong student feedback and peer recognition.
  • Experience of programme leadership or contribution to curriculum development.
  • A clear commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, alongside the interpersonal skills needed to build collaborative and inclusive academic communities.

Why Join UCL?

UCL offers a supportive and ambitious working environment, with a strong emphasis on professional development, wellbeing, and inclusion. Benefits include:

  • Relocation and immigration support for eligible roles
