About the Role
The University of Sussex is seeking a dedicated educator to join the English Language and Linguistics team in a part-time teaching capacity. You’ll play a key role in delivering and assessing undergraduate modules, working directly with students through in-person lectures, seminars, workshops, and weekly student support hours during term time.

You’ll collaborate closely with academic colleagues and professional services staff to enhance the student learning experience. The role places particular emphasis on expertise in phonetics and phonology, and candidates able to teach in additional areas of linguistics (e.g., morphology and syntax or psycholinguistics) are especially welcome.

What We’re Looking For
We encourage applications from candidates who:
- Hold a PhD in Linguistics or a closely related field (essential).
- Have experience teaching undergraduates in the UK higher education sector.
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support student learning and work collaboratively.
- Can demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching phonetics and phonology and a broad interest across linguistic disciplines.

About the Faculty
