About the Role
As a Pathway Worker, you will play a central role within a multi-disciplinary CAMHS team, providing assessment, formulation, and therapeutic intervention for children and young people up to the age of 18.
You will manage a defined caseload and deliver evidence-based interventions tailored to individual needs, working closely with families and carers. The role requires confidence in autonomous practice, alongside strong partnership working with education, social care, and other agencies.
You will also be supported to develop your skills further through training in additional therapeutic modalities, clinical supervision, and ongoing professional development.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Undertake comprehensive CAMHS assessments to inform formulation, diagnosis, and care planning
- Deliver evidence-based psychological and therapeutic interventions for children and young people with complex needs
- Work collaboratively with families, carers, and partner agencies such as Social Services and Education
- Contribute actively to multi-disciplinary discussions and care planning
- Maintain high standards of clinical documentation and risk management
- Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness to service needs
- Work independently while remaining fully integrated within the wider team

Induction and Support
All new starters join on the first Monday of the month and take part in a structured induction programme of up to two weeks. This includes mandatory training, system access, wellbeing sessions, and opportunities to meet senior leaders. Induction is delivered at NELFT’s head office in Rainham, Essex.

Person Specification
Essential Criteria
- Graduate-level qualification as a healthcare professional (e.g. RMN, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist)
- Eligible for full registration with a relevant UK professional body (e.g. NMC, HCPC, Social Work England)
- Experience working with children and young people presenting with complex, disturbed, or challenging behaviours
- Ability to deliver skilled and complex therapeutic interventions
- Willingness to undertake further training to enhance clinical skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a clinical caseload
Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience working within CAMHS
- Formal training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Flexible and adaptive approach to service delivery
- Safeguarding and Pre-Employment Checks
This role requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
Applicants applying under the Skilled Worker route must also provide criminal record certificates from any country they have lived in for 12 months or more within the last 10 years.
