Role Overview

We are seeking a Lecturer in Psychology with research and teaching expertise in Educational Neuroscience, Neuroimaging, or Developmental Psychology. This is a unique opportunity to join a forward-thinking team and help shape the intellectual development of students while contributing to high-impact research.

The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver engaging teaching across diverse formats, including lectures, seminars, and tutorials, with a focus on brain-behaviour relationships, cognitive development, and learning.
  • Develop innovative teaching materials for undergraduate and postgraduate modules in educational neuroscience, neuroimaging, and developmental psychology.
  • Supervise student projects, dissertations, and research placements, providing mentorship and guidance.
  • Conduct high-quality research contributing to the School’s objectives, with opportunities to secure external funding.
  • Participate in outreach and engagement activities to increase public understanding of neuroscience and psychology.
  • Contribute to School administration and collaborative projects.

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

  • PhD in Psychology, Educational Neuroscience, Developmental Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience, or closely related field.
  • Expertise in neuroimaging techniques (fMRI, EEG, MEG) and/or developmental research methods.
  • Experience in teaching and curriculum development at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Proven research skills, with publications and potential for external funding acquisition.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with commitment to supporting a diverse student body.

Desirable:

  • Experience conducting interdisciplinary research bridging psychology, neuroscience, and education.
  • Ability to teach modules on cognitive development, learning sciences, brain imaging, or related areas.
  • Experience mentoring research students and fostering collaborative research environments.
