About the Role
Henley Business School is inviting applications for an ambitious and research-focused Associate Professor in Accounting. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to teaching, research, and leadership in a supportive and prestigious academic environment.
The successful candidate will have a strong research track record in Accounting, ideally with publications in top-tier journals, and will be able to develop and lead their own research agenda. You will also contribute to teaching and module administration across undergraduate and pre-experience master’s programmes, with particular expertise in Accounting, Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, and Data Analytics being highly desirable.
The Department of Finance and Accounting is structured into Finance (ICMA Centre) and Accounting. This post is based in Accounting, where you will contribute to research excellence, teaching innovation, and departmental administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct independent, high-quality research and provide leadership within the accounting discipline, including applying for research grants.
- Deliver engaging teaching across a range of Accounting topics in undergraduate and master’s programmes.
- Supervise and mentor students, supporting their academic and professional development.
- Contribute to administration, academic leadership, and departmental citizenship activities.
- Engage with the academic community through conferences, publications, and collaborative projects.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
- PhD in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
- Experience in teaching at university level.
- Proven expertise in data analytics in Accounting.
- Strong portfolio of research publications in leading Accounting journals.
Desirable:
- Ability to deliver modules in Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, and Data Analytics.
- Experience with academic leadership or module administration.
