Job Description

About the Role

As a key member of a multidisciplinary team, you will:

  • Assess patients’ care needs and design appropriate care plans.
  • Deliver all relevant forms of nursing care autonomously  no direct supervision required.
  • Supervise, and where needed, teach registered/unregistered staff and student nurses.
  • After two years post‑registration, you may take on greater responsibility leading/co‑ordinating nursing staff, promoting best practices, and   in absence of senior staff  providing leadership for the ward or department.
  • Duties will vary depending on ward/department and patient dependency levels.

Candidate Requirements

  • Must be a Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration.
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to work on your own initiative.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and listening skills.
  • Comfortable working in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Good time‑management skills and basic IT competency.

Contract & Location

  • Contract type: Staffbank — zero‑hour contract
  • Location: Across various sites under NHS Lanarkshire
