Why This Role Stands Out
We’re seeking a committed and compassionate urologist to join our collegial team in a region that blends a supportive community with exceptional quality of life. At CVPH Medical Center (in collaboration with University of Vermont Health Network), you’ll deliver comprehensive urologic care — from clinic visits to the OR — with the backing of advanced resources, including access to the da Vinci Surgical System for those integrating robotics into their practice.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing full-spectrum outpatient urology care, including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management.
- Operating in the OR and utilizing robotic surgical techniques if that fits your practice style.
- Offering call coverage for inpatients and emergencies at CVPH — typically on a 1-in-4 rotation (negotiable depending on your preferences).
- Working collaboratively with three other urologists and a nurse practitioner, with planned expansion to include additional advanced practice provider (APP) support.
Who We’re Looking For
- A Board‑eligible or Board‑certified urologist.
- Licensed (or eligible to be licensed) to practice medicine in the State of New York. You can start the license process via the NY State Office of Professions: Get a medical license in NY
- A confident surgeon and team‑player who values high-quality, patient‑centered care, and is comfortable both in clinic and OR environments.
Compensation & Support — What You’ll Get
- Competitive package: a $475,000 base salary, with total compensation projected around $492,000 (base + RVUs).
- Signing bonus to help you get started.
- Comprehensive benefits including relocation assistance, loan repayment support (see HHS/HRSA Loan Repayment Programs)Â CME allowance, and generous vacation time.
- Opportunities to participate in multidisciplinary GU (genitourinary) tumor board meetings — ideal if you’re interested in oncology and collaborative case discussions.
- A supportive, collegial working environment with a team-first culture.
- Life in Plattsburgh: Work–Life Balance Meets Outdoor Adventure
Plattsburgh — a charming waterfront city on the shores of Lake Champlain — offers a small-town vibe with big lifestyle perks. Imagine weekends spent sailing, fishing, or relaxing on the beach. For winter sports, the nearby Adirondack Mountains offer hiking, skiing, mountain biking, and all the fresh-air adventures you want. You’ll also be within reach of cultural and regional hubs: Burlington, VT; the Olympic–Lake Placid region; and even Montreal. It’s a perfect mix of peaceful community living and easy access to vibrant, cosmopolitan destinations.
