About the Opportunity
Sherwood Forest Hospitals is looking for a dedicated and experienced Band 6 Midwife to join our established Community Midwifery Teams across several Nottinghamshire localities. This rewarding role offers a blend of flexible daytime shifts and night on-call rotations to support the diverse maternity needs of women and families within the community.
As a valued member of our midwifery workforce, you will provide safe, evidence-based, and compassionate woman-centred care throughout pregnancy, birth planning, and the postnatal journey. You will work autonomously while being fully supported by a multidisciplinary network committed to delivering outstanding maternity services.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver holistic midwifery care to women with both low- and high-risk pregnancies within community settings
- Provide antenatal, intrapartum (where appropriate), and postnatal support based on national guidance and Trust pathways
- Offer personalised care, clinical advice, and continuous assessment throughout the maternity journey
- Maintain strong, empathetic communication with service users, their families, and colleagues
- Liaise effectively with acute maternity services and other healthcare providers to ensure seamless care transitions
- Support health promotion, safeguarding, and public health initiatives
- Contribute to a culture of safety, learning, and continuous improvement within the community teams
