Program Overview

Verisk’s Summer Internship Program provides students with hands-on experience, professional development, and networking opportunities in a leading data analytics and technology company serving the global insurance industry. This paid internship is ideal for students eager to apply classroom learning to real-world challenges, particularly in product development, data analytics, and business operations.

During the 3-month internship, you will work alongside cross-functional teams including developers, analysts, and business stakeholders, gaining exposure to API-driven products and understanding how analytics influence insurance solutions.

Internship Responsibilities

As a Junior Product Specialist Intern, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting Business Operations: Gather and document business requirements via workshops and stakeholder interviews.
  • Analytical Thinking: Translate user needs into product features or troubleshoot client issues effectively.
  • Data Skills: Collaborate with data teams to understand data flows, contribute to product functionality, and support analytics initiatives.
  • Communication: Serve as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring clarity in expectations and deliverables.
  • Product Development Exposure: Gain hands-on experience with API-driven product creation and maintenance.
  • Industry Insight: Learn how underwriting, risk modeling, and insurance decisions shape product strategy.

Candidate Profile

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Curious, collaborative, and eager to learn
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical mindset with a problem-solving approach
  • Comfort with technology and working with data
  • Interest in insurance or product development

Experience:

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in IT, Economics, Business, Statistics, or related fields (UCAS Guidance for undergraduates)

  • Familiarity with Excel; knowledge of SQL, Python, or BI tools is advantageous
  • Experience on analytical or data-driven projects is beneficial
  • Understanding of the insurance industry is welcome but not required

Eligibility:

Internship does not provide visa sponsorship. Applicants requiring skilled worker sponsorship post-graduation are ineligible (UK Visas and Immigration)
