Role Overview
Henley Business School is looking to appoint a Lecturer in Entrepreneurship to support the continued expansion of research, teaching, and engagement activities within the newly established Department of Digitalisation, Marketing and Entrepreneurship (DME).
This post is ideal for a scholar-practitioner who can bridge academic excellence with real entrepreneurial insight, contributing to the School’s ambition to grow its impact on business creation, innovation practices, and community-based enterprise development.
You will join a dynamic and collaborative academic community, contributing to curriculum development, research leadership, and outreach activities aligned with the University’s Community and Engagement Strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Research
- Produce high-quality, original research in entrepreneurship, innovation, or related fields.
- Build a strong publication profile and contribute to collaborative research initiatives.
- Seek external funding to support individual and departmental research agendas.
Teaching
- Deliver teaching across undergraduate, postgraduate (pre-experience and post-experience), and executive education programmes.
- Contribute to the design and enhancement of modules covering entrepreneurship, innovation, start-up creation, venture development, and digital entrepreneurship.
- Provide academic supervision for student projects and dissertations.
Service & Leadership
- Undertake administrative duties within the DME Department.
- Engage in community outreach, fostering partnerships with entrepreneurs, start-up ecosystems and industry bodies.
- Support departmental and School-level leadership activities where appropriate.
Candidate Profile
Essential
- Expertise in entrepreneurship, innovation or closely related fields.
- Evidence of research excellence or strong potential for future contributions.
- Ability to teach across varied audiences including executive learners.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to engage in academic citizenship.
Desirable
- Practical experience in starting or running a business.
- Ability to design practice-focused entrepreneurship learning experiences.
