Role Overview

Henley Business School is inviting applications for an Associate Professor in International Business and Strategy. This permanent, full-time position offers the opportunity to join a globally recognized, triple-accredited business school (AMBA, EQUIS, AACSB) and contribute to world-leading research, innovative teaching, and academic leadership.

The postholder will engage in high-quality research, curriculum development, and mentorship, helping to advance the Dunning Centre for International Business, one of the world’s premier centres for international business research. You will be part of a collaborative and distinguished academic community, with opportunities to shape the next generation of international business scholars.

Key Responsibilities

Research & Scholarship

  • Conduct independent, high-impact research in International Business and Strategy, contributing to top-tier journals.
  • Develop a strategic research agenda aligned with the Department and Dunning Centre’s priorities.
  • Supervise PhD students and mentor early-career researchers.
  • Seek external research funding and participate in international collaborations.

Teaching & Learning

  • Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in International Business, Strategy, and related subjects.
  • Design innovative curricula and teaching methods to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Support the development of students’ academic and professional skills across multiple programmes, including MBA, DBA, and executive education.

Leadership & Service

  • Contribute to academic leadership within the Department and School.
  • Engage in programme development, departmental strategy, and mentoring of colleagues.
  • Represent Henley Business School in international conferences and professional networks.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • PhD in Management, International Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Sustained record of high-quality research published in leading journals.
  • Emerging or established international reputation in research.
  • Teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in International Business and/or Strategy.
  • Experience in securing research funding and grants.

Desirable Attributes

  • Ability to contribute to the Dunning Centre’s research expertise.
  • Experience mentoring academic colleagues and students.
  • Willingness to contribute to the School’s strategic goals and global initiatives.
