About the Role
The University of Sussex is partway through a major digital transformation programme, which includes developing a new website and content operating model. As part of this exciting change, we are seeking a proactive and adaptable Content Designer to join our Content Strategy team.
In this role, you will help migrate and redesign digital content from our existing CMS to a new platform. You will create and manage user-focused content that meets our brand, accessibility, and web standards. You’ll also collaborate with colleagues across the University to ensure our digital presence effectively meets both user needs and organisational goals.
You’ll use evidence-based decision making, drawing on analytics and user insight, and promote best practices in SEO and content design across the University’s digital estate.
About You
You are a thoughtful communicator who can actively listen, ask insightful questions, and work collaboratively to solve problems. You combine empathy and curiosity with strong delivery skills, understanding that digital transformation is as much about people as it is about systems or creativity.
You think from the user’s perspective, ensuring our content and services are accessible, intuitive, and effective. You also have excellent writing and editing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance big-picture strategy with day-to-day content production.
Your expertise in content design, stakeholder management, and data-informed decision making will enable you to build trust, improve processes, and deliver high-quality digital experiences.
