Summary

GE Aerospace is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Sales Support Director (SSD) to lead proposal and deal development activities across the Europe & Africa region.

In this key leadership role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate customer requirements, align proposals with business strategy, and deliver timely, high-quality commercial solutions. You will play a pivotal role in shaping deal structures, managing commercial risk, and supporting negotiations to drive long-term growth and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Review and interpret customer requirements, translating them into competitive and viable commercial solutions that align with GE Aerospace’s business objectives.

Provide strategic and commercial leadership during deal reviews to ensure a robust understanding of proposal scope, pricing, and associated risks.

Drive process improvement and automation in proposal generation to ensure timely and efficient customer responses.

Partner with sales and marketing teams to deepen insights into airline, airframer, and lessor operations, as well as emerging market strategies.

Support customer negotiations, offering commercial expertise and guidance to achieve mutually beneficial agreements.

Minimum Qualifications / Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience, ideally in engineering, finance, or business-related fields.

Extensive experience within the aerospace, defense, or power generation industries.

Desired Characteristics

  • Proven background in sales support, marketing, commercial finance/risk, proposals, and/or contract management.
  • Strong understanding of financial analysis, including risk, tax, and legal considerations.
  • Experience developing, negotiating, and managing long-term customer service agreements (CSAs).
  • Applied knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies to streamline transactional processes.
  • Comfortable working in a high-paced, dynamic environment with exposure to senior leadership.
  • Exceptional ability to build and influence relationships across global, matrixed organizations.
  • Excellent communication skills—able to present complex concepts clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences, including executives and customers.
  • Strong project management capability, with the ability to manage multiple complex deals simultaneously.
