Job Description

About the Role

The Clinical Imaging Sciences Centre (CISC) at the University of Sussex is seeking a motivated and skilled MRI Radiographer or Senior MRI Radiographer to join its research and clinical imaging team.

CISC is a leading facility housing two MRI scanners — a Siemens Prisma 3T (research and clinical use) and a Multiwave MGNTQ 0.05T (ultra-low field research scanner).

This role offers an exceptional opportunity for a radiographer who is enthusiastic about developing their expertise in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) within a stimulating research-focused environment, while contributing to clinical services such as memory assessment and sports injury imaging.

You will work closely with academic researchers in cognitive and clinical neuroscience, as well as healthcare professionals from NHS and private sector partners.
Some weekend working may be required depending on operational needs.

Applications for part-time or flexible arrangements are welcome.

About You

You will hold a BSc in Radiography, DCR, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the College of Radiographers, and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
A satisfactory DBS check is required for this post.

Grade 6 applicants: Previous MRI experience is desirable but not essential — training will be provided for candidates seeking to develop in this modality.

Grade 7 applicants: You will have significant MRI experience, including the ability to teach, train, and supervise other MR radiographers.

You will also demonstrate:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, working effectively with service users, colleagues, and stakeholders.

The ability to manage your own workload and contribute proactively to a team environment.

A commitment to professional growth and continuous development.
