About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior BMS (Building Management Systems) Optimisation Engineer to join our BeMS Optimisation Division. In this role, you will deliver Optimisation, Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), and Reactive Service Works across a variety of client sectors. Your focus will be on driving energy efficiency and decarbonisation through intelligent building control solutions.
You’ll work closely with our clients and in-house support teams to deliver measurable improvements in energy performance, carbon reduction, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver BMS optimisation, maintenance, and reactive services across multiple client sites.
Carry out energy optimisation surveys on systems such as Trend, Tridium, Cylon, and Siemens.
Produce clear, concise survey reports recommending control strategy improvements.
Diagnose and resolve energy anomalies identified by the Remote Optimisation Centre (ROC).
Implement software modifications and fine-tune control strategies to enhance building energy performance.
Conduct PPM visits, including system checks on control panels, sensors, valves, actuators, and supervisory software.
Identify and scope additional small works opportunities during service visits.
Complete detailed service and project reports on the same day as site visits.
Respond to reactive call-outs, troubleshoot BMS or HVAC control issues, and complete small works projects where required.
Maintain compliance with Health & Safety standards, review RAMS, and complete on-site risk assessments.
Communicate effectively and professionally with all clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
CSCS Gold Card or ECS Card (essential).
Electrical or Electronic Engineering qualification (HNC/ONC or equivalent).
Minimum 5 years’ experience in BMS commissioning and systems engineering.
Proficiency with Trend, Tridium, and/or Cylon BMS systems.
Strong understanding of BMS service, fault-finding, and small works delivery.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Positive, proactive, and solutions-focused mindset.
High attention to detail and accountability.
Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
Maintain full awareness of health and safety procedures before, during, and after site work.
Review and sign RAMS before starting any engagement, ensuring client acknowledgment.
Identify new or changed site risks and act appropriately to ensure safety standards are met.
Keep health and safety certifications up to date.
Core Benefits
Starting salary: From £50,000 (depending on experience)

Overtime pay: 1.5x or 2x hourly rate depending on timing
Working away allowance: 3.75 hours’ pay per night
On-call payment: £35 per day when on standby
