Position Overview
Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking dedicated nurses or Allied Health Professionals to join our innovative neurology service as a Rotational Neurology Practitioner. This Band 7 role offers a permanent, full-time position with a salary range of £47,810 to £54,710 per year (Agenda for Change pay scheme). Reference: 184-OL-OR-3220.

What We’re Seeking

Qualifications (Essential)

  • A degree or equivalent professional qualification in nursing or allied health.
  • Postgraduate training up to Master’s level, or equivalent clinical development in a relevant field.
  • Readiness to pursue non-medical prescribing and physical assessment/clinical reasoning qualifications.
  • At least two years’ experience in neurology services (or one year for developmental consideration).

Desirable Qualifications

  • A qualification in teaching or mentorship.

Experience (Essential)

  • Substantial post-registration NHS experience, with strong clinical relevance to neurology.
  • Proven track record in cross-organizational healthcare collaboration and delivering efficient services within budget constraints.
  • Hands-on involvement in change initiatives and creating innovative care pathways.

Desirable Experience

  • Prior line management responsibilities.

Additional Skills (Essential)

  • Strong abilities in report writing, presentations, and adapting communication for patients with cognitive challenges.
  • Initiative in proposing and implementing practice improvements.
  • A valid UK driving licence.
