Job Description
About the role
The University of Sussex Admissions Office needs a Senior Admissions Coordinator. This person will help keep the postgraduate admissions process running efficiently and professionally. It is smooth too.
You would report to one of three Senior Postgraduate Admissions Coordinators. Your main job involves making sure applicants get selected quickly, fairly, and accurately. Some responsibilities cover making admission decisions and reviewing them. You provide guidance to the core team of Admissions Coordinators and Academic Reviewers. You lead certain functions during the admissions cycle. Plus, you support, motivate, and manage staff. All this ensures applicants have a great experience from application right through to arrival.
The Admissions Office feels friendly but fast-paced. There are about 40 staff members handling Undergraduate Admissions, Postgraduate Admissions, and Scholarships. The Associate Director of Global Admissions oversees everything.
About you
We want someone welcoming and friendly with solid communication skills, both written and verbal. You need to show a strong commitment to top-notch customer service. Look for administrative experience in a busy office setting, preferably in higher education. Experience with postgraduate admissions processes is key. You should have excellent organizational skills, the kind that lets you multitask and hit tight deadlines. Teamwork matters, but so does working independently and taking initiative. Knowledge of UK, EU, and international qualifications helps a lot. Be aware of UKVI and Student Visa processes. Working with applicants from diverse international backgrounds counts. Knowledge of fee status classification and assessment would be nice to have.
