About the Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operations Manager to join our Neurology, Stroke, and Rehabilitation team at University Hospitals Sussex (UHSussex).
In this role, you will provide professional leadership and operational management across your designated area, ensuring effective coordination of waiting lists, clinic utilisation, and administrative processes. You will play a key role in delivering governance, performance, and service improvement objectives to support high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring the efficient management of waiting lists, clinics, and administrative systems.
Lead on performance monitoring, governance reporting, and project delivery within the Directorate.
Produce business plans, reports, and performance reviews, taking corrective action where necessary.
Identify opportunities for service improvement and new business development, working with senior management to implement changes.
Ensure robust systems are in place for managing clinical quality, risk, assurance, and patient/public involvement.
Coordinate and support administrative teams to deliver timely and effective business operations.
Manage Directorate budgets and staffing, ensuring appropriate resource allocation and financial control.
Collaborate across divisions to ensure compliance with Trust policies, national standards, and statutory obligations.
Contribute to strategic planning and service development to improve patient pathways and operational efficiency.
Drive transformation and value-for-money initiatives across planning, commissioning, and service delivery.
About You
You will be an experienced operational or business manager with a proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and deliver service improvements in a healthcare or complex organizational setting.
Essential skills and experience include:
Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
Experience managing performance, governance, and risk frameworks.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to develop and implement new systems and processes.
Financial management experience, including budget control and resource allocation.
Commitment to improving patient care and service quality.
