About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Finance Business Partner to join our Finance team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (UHSx). Reporting to the Assistant Director of Finance – Business Partnering, you will provide senior-level financial support to the Facilities & Estates Division and Corporate Divisions, playing a key role in delivering the Trust’s objectives.

You will work closely with senior leaders, influencing financial and strategic decision-making, while also leading and developing a small team of Finance Business Partners.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, planning, and management reporting.

Provide financial and business analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making.

Present complex financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance colleagues, including Trust Board and external stakeholders.

Line manage and mentor a small team of Finance Business Partners.

Analyse financial risks, provide mitigation strategies, and support effective performance management.

Ensure compliance with the Trust’s financial policies, procedures, and strong internal controls.

Promote a culture of financial accountability and continuous improvement.

Support the preparation and financial evaluation of business cases.

About You

A qualified accountant (or finalist) with strong business partnering experience.

Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Experience presenting both financial and non-financial information at senior levels.

Ability to constructively challenge, drive performance, and support decision-making.
