Job Description
Role Overview
Worthing Hospital is launching a new 7-day Front Door Therapy Service, running from 8am to 8pm in the A&E Department and Emergency Floor. We are looking for a skilled and motivated Rehabilitation Assistant to join our expanding team.
The service provides rapid, comprehensive assessments and delivers a seamless integrated therapy model across Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy, supporting patients to achieve timely and safe discharges while helping to avoid unnecessary admissions.
You will work alongside Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and the wider multidisciplinary team, supporting patient care in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support the delivery of Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy interventions for patients assessed by the team.
Once trained and deemed competent, independently assess and progress non-complex patients, and contribute to discharge planning.
Liaise with colleagues and external agencies to support safe and effective patient care.
Work under the guidance of Occupational Therapists or Physiotherapists, with immediate access to a supervising therapist when needed.
Undertake delegated tasks from other members of the team to help manage daily workload.
Use clinical judgement within agreed protocols while maintaining patient safety.
Actively contribute as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Participate in the 7-day service rota, including weekends and bank holidays (8am–8pm).
