Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate clinician to join our 24/7 Mental Health Liaison Team based in Gloucester A&E Department.
In this role, you will provide a responsive, needs-led mental health assessment and short-term intervention service for individuals presenting to the General Hospital in mental distress, with mental illness, and/or following self-harm.
This position involves working a mix of day and night shifts; the frequency can be discussed at interview.
You will be fully supported with a personalized induction programme and ongoing professional development opportunities to help you thrive in the role.
Our team works in close partnership with Acute Hospital colleagues, ensuring patients receive the right care at the right time. Through our innovative co-streaming model, patients can access timely mental health care without unnecessary delays.

Key Responsibilities
Provide assessments for patients presenting to the Emergency Department with a wide range of mental health, psychological, and psychiatric difficulties.
Deliver mental health consultation, liaison, and advice services across hospital departments.
Provide evidence-based psychosocial interventions, particularly for patients who have self-harmed.
Support hospital colleagues in making treatment and care decisions in complex clinical situations.
Deliver both formal and informal education and clinical supervision to registered and unregistered staff.
Represent mental health services within the Hospitals Trust, promoting collaborative working.
Maintain effective communication structures between secondary mental health services, primary care, and non-statutory services, ensuring continuity and high standards of care.
