The Role
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Senior Administrator to oversee the finance and administration of the SHORE-C unit at Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS). SHORE-C conducts internationally recognized research in psychosocial oncology.
Working closely with the Director and Deputy Director, you will manage the unit’s research grants, provide administrative support to the leadership team and postdoctoral researchers, and assist with applications for new funding from charities, industry, and national/international bodies. You will also support the organization of training courses for healthcare professionals and conferences hosted by SHORE-C.
This is a key role within a busy research environment that requires independent decision-making and excellent communication skills. You will regularly interact with academic staff, research partners, pharmaceutical and commercial organizations, and patients.

You should have:
Proven experience working in a busy office environment.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet tight deadlines.
Confidence to make independent decisions and adapt flexibly to the needs of the unit.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
A proactive and solution-focused approach to administrative and financial tasks.
