About Us
The UCL Department of Chemistry is the oldest in England and one of the UK’s top-ranked departments, placed 3rd nationally for world-leading research in REF2021.
Based in the heart of Bloomsbury, we provide an exciting and vibrant environment for students and staff. The department teaches around 650 undergraduates, 80 postgraduate taught students, and over 200 research students. Our teaching is supported by more than 60 academic staff undertaking world-class research in areas including:

About the Role
We are seeking an Undergraduate Education Administrator to provide efficient and professional administrative support across all aspects of teaching and learning within the Chemistry Department.
Working under the direction of the Senior Education Administrators and Departmental Tutors, you will:
Act as the first point of contact for undergraduate students.
Support all teaching and learning activities, from initial enquiry to completion.
Administer designated undergraduate programmes, ensuring effective procedures are documented and followed.
Provide timely, high-quality service to students and staff.
Contribute to the smooth running of departmental education operations in collaboration with the wider Education Team.
This is a permanent position available from October 2025. Please note: This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
About You
You will bring a combination of strong administrative skills and a commitment to excellent student support.
Essential requirements:
5 GCSEs at Grade C or above (including English and Maths) or equivalent qualifications/experience.
Administrative experience in higher or further education, or in a teaching and learning environment.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with staff and students.
Commitment to delivering a high-quality service.
