About the role
The James Watt School of Engineering is seeking a Wind Tunnel Research Technologist (WTRT) to provide scientific and technical expertise to support the operation, maintenance, and development of the National Wind Tunnel Facility (NWTF) and other wind tunnels within the School.
Key responsibilities:
Ensure the effective operation, calibration, and enhancement of wind tunnel instrumentation.
Support the professional and timely delivery of research and industrial projects.
Contribute to the financial sustainability of the NWTF through cost-recovery practices.
Undertake independent research and develop a strong profile of peer-reviewed publications.
Actively support externally funded research in line with the School’s academic mission.
Requirements:
Demonstrated research independence and expertise relevant to wind tunnel operations and technologies.
Strong record of technical and scientific contributions, ideally evidenced by publications.
Ability to support both academic and industrial partners through applied research and innovation.
