About the Role
We are seeking an organized, proactive, and detail-oriented individual to manage the finance and administration of the Sussex Health Outcomes Research and Education in Cancer (SHORE-C) unit. The role involves working closely with the Director, Deputy Director, and research team to support grant management, new funding applications, training courses, and conferences.
The Senior Administrator will play a key part in ensuring the smooth operation of SHORE-C’s research in psychosocial oncology, acting as a central point of contact and providing high-level administrative and financial support.
Key Responsibilities
Manage SHORE-C research grants and financial administration.
Support the preparation of grant applications to charities, industry, and national/international funding bodies.
Provide administrative support to the Director, Deputy Director, and research staff.
Assist with the organization of training courses and conferences.
Liaise with a wide range of stakeholders, including academics, healthcare professionals, industry representatives, and patients.
Prioritise tasks effectively and meet deadlines in a busy office environment.
Make independent decisions and adapt flexibly to the needs of the unit.

Strong administrative and financial management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proven experience in a busy office environment, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Confidence in working independently and using initiative.
Highly organized, adaptable, and reliable.
