Job Description

About the Role

As a Nurse with TLC Care, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, wellbeing, and dignity of residents. You will lead and support the care team, providing high-quality nursing care tailored to each resident’s physical, emotional, and social needs. You will also work closely with residents, relatives, GPs, and other professionals to deliver and review individual care plans.

This role requires you to take charge of shifts as needed, oversee safe and effective clinical practice, and ensure residents are treated with compassion, respect, and professionalism at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care & Planning

Assess, plan, deliver, and review individualized care for residents.

Complete and maintain accurate care plans in line with NMC standards and company policy.

Administer and record prescribed medication safely.

Act as the named nurse for a group of residents.

Specialist Care Areas

Tissue Viability: Prevent and monitor pressure sores, with care plans for at-risk residents.

Nutrition & Hydration: Complete monthly MUST assessments, monitor intake, and implement dietary care plans.

Continence: Complete assessments and manage catheter care with appropriate documentation.

Infection Control: Uphold and promote infection prevention policies.

Mobility & Falls: Support independence, ensure use of walking aids, and create falls-prevention care plans.

Resident Wellbeing

Maintain residents’ dignity, respect, and personal choice at all times.

Ensure hygiene, grooming, and clothing standards are met.

Build strong relationships with residents and families.

Leadership & Development

Lead and motivate care staff during shifts.

Mentor and support student nurses and carers.

Attend mandatory training and stay up to date with clinical practices.

Health & Safety

Ensure safe working practices in line with home policies.

Understand and implement fire and emergency procedures.

Skills & Requirements

NMC Registered Nurse with a valid PIN.

Strong leadership and delegation skills.

Excellent communication across all levels.

Genuine interest in elderly care.

Team player with a collaborative approach.

Clear DBS and Adult First check.
