About the Role

We are looking for a fair, detail-oriented, and proactive Casework Officer to join our Tenancy Management team within Housing Services. You will play a key role in maintaining the quality and safety of university-managed accommodation by investigating breaches of tenancy license agreements and ensuring a respectful, supportive living environment for all residents.

A central part of this role is balancing enforcement with education—helping students understand their responsibilities while upholding community standards. You will also represent Housing Services at interdepartmental meetings when deputizing for the Tenancy Enforcement Manager.

In addition to casework, you will provide administrative and reception support across Housing Services. This includes handling enquiries from applicants, students, and residents via reception, email, and phone, as well as assisting with routine housing-related tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Investigate and manage tenancy license breaches with fairness, consistency, and professionalism.

Support and educate students to ensure a safe and respectful residential community.

Deputies for the Tenancy Enforcement Manager at interdepartmental meetings when required.

Provide administrative and reception support, handling enquiries in person, by email, and by phone.

Maintain accurate records and handle confidential information responsibly.

Contribute to the smooth running of Housing Services and assist colleagues where needed.

About You

Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to priorities tasks and manage competing demands.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build rapport quickly with colleagues, students, and stakeholders.

Confident in working independently as well as collaboratively within a small team.

Good problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in routine casework.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable working with administrative systems.

Reliable and discreet when handling confidential or sensitive cases.
