About the Role
Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS) is seeking an Anatomy Facility Manager to lead the provision of high-quality technical services in anatomy. This role will oversee the daily operations of the Anatomy Facility, supporting both teaching and research, and ensuring services are efficient, safe, and continuously improving.
You will manage specialist teaching and research spaces, ensure compliance with legislation and University policies, and provide guidance to staff, students, and visitors. As a line manager, you will lead and develop a team of technicians, supporting their training and professional growth.
A key focus will be developing strategies to expand the facility’s activities, including income generation and building industry partnerships. You will also maintain safety compliance, oversee equipment maintenance, update procedures, deliver training, and contribute to health and safety committees.
About You
Educated to degree level (Level 6) or equivalent experience.
Strong practical knowledge of anatomy facilities, techniques, and compliance requirements (including the Human Tissue Act 2004).
Proven management and leadership skills, with experience of supervising small teams.
Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a commitment to excellent service delivery.
Experience of data handling and university systems.
Desirable:
Postgraduate qualification.
Knowledge of higher education environments.
Understanding of financial regulations and experience in income generation.
