About the Role
Dowty, part of GE Aerospace, is recruiting for a Lean Leader to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement across the business using GE Aerospace’s proprietary Flight Deck lean operating model.
In this role, you will apply lean principles to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC). Reporting to the Global Flight Deck Leader, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver sustainable improvements, build problem-solving capability across the organization, and support strategic and operational business plans.
The Flight Deck model combines lean methodologies such as Kaizen, Kata, Hoshin Kanri, and Standard Work, adapted specifically to Dowty and GE Aerospace.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the implementation of Flight Deck methodologies to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC), with safety as the top priority.
Coach and embed lean principles, behaviors, and tools across teams, driving cultural change and measurable performance improvements.
Facilitate workshops, Kaizen events, and training to build Flight Deck capability.
Act as a change agent, promoting a culture of problem-solving and innovation.
Analyse processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement lean-based solutions.
Ensure sustainability of improvements through standard work, documentation, and audits.
Communicate effectively across all levels, influencing and engaging teams to support transformation.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
Strong background in lean deployment and execution in a manufacturing environment.
In-depth knowledge of lean/continuous improvement principles and tools.
Proven ability to analyse data, solve problems, and make evidence-based decisions.
Strong presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Project and change management experience.
Ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams.
Strong technical and analytical skills.
