The Role
The University of Reading is seeking reliable and customer-focused Library Evening Attendants to join our Support Services team. In this role, you will help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for library users, ensuring the highest standards of customer service and support.
We currently have three vacancies covering evening and weekend shifts:
Friday: 6:50 pm – 12:05 am
Saturday: 5:15 pm – 9:15 pm
Sunday: 5:15 pm – 12:15 am
Typically, each staff member will work two shifts per week, though one of the posts may be for one shift only.
Please note: Although the post is term-time only (32 weeks), salary is paid in 12 equal monthly instalments across the year.
About You
We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to provide excellent customer service.
Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the library service.
Previous experience in a customer service role is an advantage, but not essential, as training will be provided.
