Job Description

The Role

The University of Reading is seeking a proactive and detail-focused Property Administrator to support the management of its diverse investment property portfolio, which includes prime commercial land and a wide range of assets across all property classes.

This role is central to ensuring that property records and systems are accurate and up to date, and that financial and compliance matters are handled effectively. You will work closely with the surveying team and wider stakeholders to support the smooth running and strategic growth of the University’s property interests.

Key responsibilities include:

Maintaining accurate tenancy and lease records within the Property Terrier and CAFM systems.

Supporting the management of business rates, property finance, and related documentation.

Assisting with the preparation and organization of lease and property agreements.

Providing administrative support to ensure compliance and efficiency across the portfolio.

Liaising with tenants and internal stakeholders in a professional and effective manner.

About You

We are looking for an organized and motivated individual who brings:

Proven administrative and organizational skills, ideally within a commercial and/or residential property environment.

Experience maintaining commercial tenancy records and CAFM systems.

Strong IT skills, particularly in Word, Excel, and Outlook, with confidence using financial systems.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders.

A collaborative, problem-solving mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Numeracy and attention to detail when managing financial and property data.

About the Property Team

The University’s Property Team manages a multi-million-pound investment portfolio of around 250 properties and property-related interests. The income generated is reinvested into core academic and research functions. The team provides expertise in commercial development, asset management, acquisitions, disposals, valuations, insurance, and business rates, and serves as an RICS-accredited real estate knowledge hub for the University.
