The Role
The University of Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) Training Centre is seeking an experienced Engineering Skills Coach to join its delivery team.
In this role, you will:
Teach, train, coach, and assess apprentices across Engineering Apprenticeship programmes from Level 3 to Level 7.
Deliver training and assessment within the new Sheffield Foragemasters machining workshop.
Provide support for apprentice development and deliver short CPD courses as required.
Create, organize, and manage assessment resources and related activities.
This is a hands-on role focused on equipping the next generation of engineers with the technical and professional skills needed for advanced manufacturing careers.
About You
You will bring:
A minimum Level 3 qualification in engineering (BTEC, NVQ, C&G, HNC) or equivalent relevant experience.
Significant experience in a machining (CNC) engineering environment, including knowledge of modern cutters, tooling, and machining methods.
Teaching and assessing qualifications.
Proficiency in IT, including laptops, tablets, smartphones, and e-learning software (e-portfolios).
Strong communication and customer interaction skills, both written and verbal.
The ability to deliver engaging training sessions and provide effective coaching and assessment.
