The Role

We are seeking an Hourly Paid Lecturer in Health & Social Care to join our teaching team in Birmingham.

You will deliver high-quality teaching and assessment across undergraduate levels, and where appropriate, postgraduate programmes. Subject areas may include Early Years, Public Health, Digital Health, and Psychology. You may also be asked to develop teaching and assessment materials and lead on specific modules or programmes.

Key responsibilities include:

Delivering teaching, learning, and assessments using a range of engaging approaches.

Designing and developing teaching materials and module content.

Supervising and supporting students with study skills, research methods, assessments, and dissertations.

Providing constructive feedback and guidance to enhance the student experience.

Contributing to high standards of teaching quality within the Health & Social Care subject area.

Requirements

Essential:

A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Public Health, Digital Health, Psychology, Nursing, Allied Health Professions, or related fields).

Experience of teaching, assessment, and student support at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in higher education.

Experience of working with students from diverse backgrounds.

Experience in designing learning materials and assessment methods.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to teamwork.

Proficiency in IT and digital learning tools.

Ability to manage competing priorities effectively.

Desirable:

Additional qualifications or experience relevant to higher education teaching.

Further Information

This role offers flexible working hours across weekdays and weekends. Teaching hours are allocated prior to each term (September, January, May) according to both lecturer availability and timetabling needs.
