About the Role
We are looking for a Finance Service Desk Officer to join our friendly and professional Finance Division. This role provides a trusted first-line enquiry management service for staff and students, helping them with their financial responsibilities and ensuring that queries are resolved quickly and effectively.
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering high-quality support via email, phone, and MS Teams.
Acting as the first point of contact, liaising between service users and Finance operational teams to resolve queries.
Collaborating with other services (e.g. HR, Division for the Student Experience) to provide accurate information and signposting.
Supporting training and induction for colleagues across the University as required.
This is a customer-facing role where you will play a key part in ensuring staff and students receive timely, professional, and effective financial support.
About You
We are seeking a confident communicator with experience in customer support or service delivery. You will enjoy problem-solving and be committed to delivering excellent customer service.
Essential qualities include:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Analytical thinking and attention to detail
Ability to quickly build rapport with diverse stakeholders
A proactive, solutions-focused approach to enquiries
About the Finance Division
The Finance Division, led by the Director of Finance, employs around 80 staff and plays a central role in supporting the University’s strategic goals. We provide high-quality financial and commercial services, ensuring efficient systems, processes, and risk management.
