Founded in 2006 through a partnership between the University of Liverpool (UK) and Xi’an Jiaotong University (China), Xi’an Jiaotong–Liverpool University (XJTLU) is a leading international joint-venture university. About IBSS

The International Business School Suzhou (IBSS) is one of China’s fastest-growing international business schools and one of the youngest schools worldwide to achieve triple accreditation (AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA/BGA).

With five academic departments—Accounting, Economics, Finance, Intelligent Operations & Marketing, and Strategic Management & Organizations—IBSS has more than 170 faculty and 6,000 students from 60+ countries. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate, MBA, PhD, and executive education programmes.

Role Overview

The Associate Dean for Executive Education and Enterprise (ADEEE) provides leadership for IBSS’s executive education and enterprise engagement portfolio. The role focuses on:

Expanding executive education programmes (open enrolment, customised, and government/industry initiatives).

Building flagship programmes that strengthen IBSS’s reputation in China and globally.

Driving revenue growth and ensuring commercial sustainability.

Managing client relationships with business, government, and non-profit partners.

Collaborating with other Associate Deans to integrate executive education with research, consulting, and internationalisation efforts.

As part of the IBSS senior leadership team, the ADEEE also contributes to IBSS’s transformation into XJTLU’s Business Intelligence Hub, which connects executive education with applied research and industry collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership

Develop and implement a market-driven strategy for executive education.

Design flagship programmes that combine global business insights with China-specific expertise.

Innovate in programme formats to meet the needs of executives and public leaders.

2. Client and Stakeholder Engagement

Build strong relationships with multinational firms, Chinese companies, chambers of commerce, and government bodies.

Ensure programmes meet international quality standards and client expectations.

3. Revenue Growth and Market Expansion

Set and achieve ambitious revenue targets.

Strengthen IBSS’s profile as a top executive education provider in China and the wider region.

Monitor performance using KPIs such as client growth, programme impact, and market reach.

4. Programme Delivery and Operations

Oversee the design, coordination, and delivery of executive education programmes.

Collaborate with faculty and external experts to ensure quality and relevance.

Align executive education with IBSS’s research, enterprise, and industry engagement goals.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

PhD in a business-related field.

Current appointment as Senior Associate Professor or Professor.

Extensive experience in executive education, corporate training, or industry-focused programme delivery.

Strong record of building partnerships with corporate or public sector stakeholders, especially in China.

Proven ability to manage budgets, projects, and client relationships.

Desirable

Familiarity with Chinese education and training regulations.

Experience in consulting, applied research, or professional services.

Knowledge of key business sectors in China (e.g., finance, technology, manufacturing, public administration).

Proficiency in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
