The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Corporate Counsel to provide strategic legal guidance to Caterpillar’s Financial Product Division. This role covers Eastern Europe, the Baltic States, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan, with additional compliance oversight across the EAME region. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, ensuring legal compliance and supporting complex business operations across multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regional Legal Support: Deliver legal counsel for financial operations in Eastern Europe, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan.
  • Legal Advisory & Documentation: Draft, review, and advise on commercial agreements, regulatory matters, and litigation.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Monitor evolving regulations, assess potential impacts, and advise management on moderate-risk issues.
  • Stakeholder Representation: Negotiate with government bodies, customers, suppliers, and other external parties.
  • Collaboration: Partner with internal legal teams, compliance officers, and senior executives to ensure consistency and alignment.
  • Strategic Partnering: Provide legal insights that shape operational and strategic decision-making.

Candidate Profile

  • Education: Law degree (bachelor’s minimum) with an active license or admission to practice.
  • Experience: Post-qualification experience as in-house counsel or in a law firm; prior financial or leasing industry experience is an advantage.
  • Languages: Professional fluency in English and Russian required.
  • Personal Attributes: Integrity, cultural intelligence, collaborative mindset, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multinational environment.
