Job Summary

We are seeking a Clinical Mental Health Lead / Deputy Hospital Director to join our specialist hospital team at Barchester Healthcare. Working alongside the Hospital Director, you will provide strong clinical and operational leadership, stepping in to cover their duties when required. This is a key leadership role where you will ensure high standards of care, regulatory compliance, and delivery against quality performance indicators, all while creating a safe, supportive, and caring environment for patients and staff.

Main Responsibilities

Provide clinical leadership across the hospital, ensuring best practice and adherence to regulations.

Lead, mentor, and support staff to deliver safe, person-centered care for patients with complex mental health needs.

Take responsibility for workforce management, budgets, and strategy development.

Support service improvement and quality initiatives to achieve KPIs.

Act as Deputy to the Hospital Director, taking on management responsibilities in their absence.

Contribute to on-call rotas, including occasional weekends, bank holidays, and out-of-hours cover.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

RMN (Registered Mental Health Nurse) or RNLD (Registered Nurse in Learning Disabilities) qualification.

Current UK professional registration.

Proven management experience in a mental health setting.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and support staff.

Experience in budget management, service planning, and clinical governance.

A compassionate, patient-focused approach and commitment to staff development.
