About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Author to join our team, reporting directly to the Customer Experience Director. In this role, you will create and maintain high-quality documentation to support our customers, helping them understand our products while reducing reliance on our support team.

You will be responsible for producing user manuals, workflow guides, and other learning materials, using clear and concise language combined with visuals such as diagrams, charts, and videos. You will work closely with product delivery teams to ensure documentation is accurate, up to date, and aligned with the product lifecycle.

This role requires strong communication skills, creativity, and the ability to present complex technical concepts in an engaging and accessible way. You will also contribute ideas to improve customer experience, incorporating feedback and suggesting enhancements.

Some occasional travel in the UK and abroad may be required, supporting activities such as customer training, demonstrations, and sales support.

Key Responsibilities

Develop user manuals, workflow guides, and self-service materials to support customer learning.

Present technical information in clear, concise, and engaging formats.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation.

Use a variety of media (manuals, videos, diagrams, drawings, charts) to enhance understanding.

Ensure all materials are updated throughout the product lifecycle.

Provide feedback and suggest improvements based on customer insights and personal experience.

Support training sessions and demos, when required.

Essential Skills & Experience (Must-Haves)

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a technical authoring role.

Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience in media server, pixel processing, or experiential AV industries.

Strong English writing skills with proven ability to simplify complex concepts.

Experience with WordPress, HTML, PHP.

Skilled in desktop publishing and help authoring tools.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Ability to create clear text and visuals to explain technical concepts.

Innovative approach to communication and learning materials.

Valid passport and driving license.

Desirable Skills (Helpful-to-Haves)

Knowledge of modern software development practices.

Previous experience documenting complex software products.

Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
