About the Role
The Health Economics Research Unit (HERU), part of the Institute of Applied Health Sciences at the University of Aberdeen, is seeking a motivated Research Assistant or Research Fellow to join our team for up to 10 months. You will contribute to applied economic evaluations of health technologies that influence NHS policy and practice.
HERU is a leading centre in Europe for health economics, renowned for high-impact applied and methodological research. Our work was highly rated in the Research Excellence Framework (REF 2021), with 95% of activity deemed internationally excellent or world-leading.
Key Responsibilities
Contribute to health technology assessments by developing and evaluating economic models.
Conduct decision analytic modelling, statistical analysis, and evidence synthesis.
Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to produce high-quality research outputs for academic journals and policy reports.
Support applied health economics projects that inform NHS decisions and policy development.
Person Specification
Hold an MSc in Health Economics, Statistics, Operations Research, or a related quantitative discipline.
For Research Fellow appointments, a PhD or MSc plus equivalent research experience is required.
Experience or knowledge of decision analytic modelling, statistical techniques, and evidence synthesis is highly desirable.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage competing priorities.
Strong analytical and communication skills to produce clear and impactful research outputs.
Additional Information
This is a fixed-term position offering a valuable opportunity to gain experience in health economics and decision modelling within a dynamic research environment.
Full training and support will be provided.
