Job Description

The Opportunity

Leeds Arts University, the only specialist arts university in the North of England, has a distinguished history spanning over 170 years in arts education. With a national and international reputation for excellence, we continue to support and develop creative talent across disciplines.

We are seeking to expand our Lecturer Pool for the BA (Hons) Textile Design course and invite applications from individuals with industry expertise, academic experience, or an active practice in textile design.

About the Role

Successful candidates will join our Lecturer Pool and be considered for short-term teaching assignments as they arise. The teaching will be delivered in short blocks, with frequency and scheduling dependent on course needs.

This flexible arrangement is particularly suited to professionals based within commuting distance of Leeds, given the ad-hoc and potentially short-term nature of assignments.

What We’re Looking For

Applicants should have:

A degree in a relevant subject area

Expertise and experience in Textile Design as a practicing professional, academic, or industry specialist

A passion for education and student development

While prior teaching experience at higher education level is desirable, we also welcome applications from industry professionals interested in developing their teaching skills.

Please note: Full details of the essential and desirable criteria can be found in the job description. Successful applicants will be required to complete a short, paid induction to become familiar with University systems and procedures.

How to Apply

Please note that CVs will not be accepted. To apply, click the ‘Apply’ button which will redirect you to our application portal.

If you have a background in textile design and a passion for creative education, we’d love to hear from you.
