About the Role
We are seeking two Open Access Advisors to join our Open Access Team on a fixed-term basis to provide maternity cover. These roles are essential to the day-to-day operations of UCL’s open access services.
Key responsibilities include:
Advising academic staff on gold open access publishing and compliance with research funder policies (e.g. UKRI, Wellcome Trust, CRUK, BHF)
Managing workflows related to publisher agreements and rights retention
Organizing and processing payments for gold open access
Supporting service development and process improvement within the team
Collaborating with colleagues across the university to support open research practices
About You
Essential Skills and Experience:
A solid understanding of open access publishing and funder compliance requirements
Practical experience delivering open access or research support services
Strong organizational skills, with experience handling administrative workflows and financial processes
Excellent communication skills and ability to provide clear guidance to academic staff
This role requires attention to detail, the ability to work effectively in a team, and a proactive approach to service delivery in a fast-paced academic environment.
