Role Overview
The Department of Strategy and Marketing at the University of Sussex Business School is seeking a full-time Assistant Professor (Education & Scholarship) with expertise in Global Strategy and Marketing. This fixed-term post offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, diverse, and interdisciplinary department with strong teaching and scholarship performance.
You will contribute to curriculum delivery and development across undergraduate and postgraduate modules such as:
Marketing Strategy
International Marketing
Marketing Analytics
Consumer Behaviour and Research
Global Business Environment
Key responsibilities include:
Designing and delivering high-quality lectures, seminars, and workshops
Developing and assessing course materials
Providing academic guidance and dissertation supervision
Contributing to departmental administration and committee work
Supporting student success and professional development
About You
You will hold a PhD in Strategy, Marketing, or a closely related field, and have proven experience in higher education teaching and course development. You should demonstrate:
A track record of teaching excellence and effective student engagement
The ability to use innovative and inclusive teaching practices
Experience in both face-to-face and online teaching environments
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
A collaborative mindset, particularly across disciplines
A commitment to values such as sustainability, ethics, and addressing global business challenges
