About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Technical Author to join our team. This role is focused on creating clear, engaging, and effective documentation to support our users and reduce reliance on technical support. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to produce and maintain high-quality content for a range of audiences and formats.

Key Responsibilities

Produce and maintain user manuals, guides, and documentation to support customer self-service and product understanding.

Translate complex technical information into clear, accessible content for a variety of audiences.

Work collaboratively with product, engineering, support, and training teams throughout the product lifecycle.

Create engaging documentation using a variety of mediums, including diagrams, images, videos, and written guides.

Develop and maintain online help resources (e.g., via WordPress, HTML, PHP).

Ensure all content is kept up to date with the latest product developments.

Use customer feedback and team insights to suggest improvements to documentation and user experience.

Assist occasionally with training sessions, customer site visits, or sales demos (may include UK and international travel).

Requirements (Essential)

Education: Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (significant relevant industry experience may substitute).

Experience: Minimum 3 years in a technical writing or authoring role.

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Experience producing content for technical products or software systems.

Proficiency in using:

WordPress, HTML, and PHP

Desktop publishing and help authoring tools

Microsoft Office (advanced knowledge)

Ability to quickly learn and communicate complex technical concepts.

Creative and user-centric approach to content design.

Full UK driving license and valid passport (for occasional travel).

Desirable Skills (Nice to Have)

Experience working in the media server, pixel processing, or experiential AV industries.

Familiarity with modern software development practices and terminology.

Previous work in an organization producing complex software products.

Strong visual communication skills and creative content development.

Experience with content strategy, visual storytelling, or instructional design.
