The Role
We are seeking a Lecturer in Health and Social Care to contribute to teaching and learning across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
The post holder will:
- Design, develop, and deliver engaging teaching across different settings, from lectures and seminars to workshops and placements.
Lead and contribute to modules in areas such as:
- Public Health
- Epidemiology
- Digital Health Promotion
- Quality Assurance in Health and Social Care
- Partnership Working and Service Integration
- Mental Health
- Ageing
- Physiology and Psychology
- Develop innovative teaching and assessment materials that meet quality assurance standards.
- Provide high-quality academic and pastoral support, ensuring students thrive in their studies.
- Supervise student projects and dissertations.
- Undertake scholarly and research activity.
- Engage in continuing professional development.

Person Specification
Essential:
- A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Public Health, Epidemiology, Digital Health Promotion, Quality Assurance in Health and Social Care, Partnership Working and Service Integration).
- Experience of teaching, assessment, and student support in UK Higher Education (undergraduate and postgraduate).
- Experience working with students from varied backgrounds.
- Experience in developing module content, teaching materials, and assessments.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to teamwork.
- Proficiency in IT and online learning tools.
- Ability to manage competing demands of teaching, research, and administration.
Additional Information
Annual leave: 35 days, plus 8 bank holidays and 4 university closure days (pro-rata).
